A thriller or horror film entertains with shock, surprise, and tension. A funhouse ride amuses with challenge, surprise, and disorientation. We put ourselves in uncomfortable situations, seek out and actively interact with entertainment to escape the mediocre and feel something new without risking too much. Consider these virtual experiences of our own life. 

Costuming, mimicking fiction, competing on stage with others who enjoy creating wearables brings an exciting stress to my life that has little to no repercussions when the projects go awry. I have been creating elaborate costumes since I can remember and showing them off to crowds since highschool. Realizing in college that these getups could win me money and tiny fame made it all the more exciting.
